Hurricane Relief Efforts
I am sure that you have been diligently praying for those who have been affected by the recent hurricane. Many have asked about helping. While the needs of our brethren and fellow Texans have not fully been assessed, we are aware of some things that we can do to help during this difficult time.
This Friday (Sept 1, 2017) a small group will be traveling to Aransas Pass to assist the brethren there (an effort being coordinated by Matt Gibson and the brethren at the Riverside congregation). We will be taking a load of supplies when we go. We are also going to gather information as to what more is needed.
At this point, this is what is needed.
*Care Buckets – (5 gallon bucket with 1 roll of paper towels, 2 rolls of toilet paper, 1 package of wet wipes, 1 bottle of cleaning solution, basic hygiene items, etc.)
*Bottled Water, Bottled Water, Bottled Water
*Gloves (Work & Rubber)
*Non-perishable canned foods
*Gift cards for food & supplies
If you want it to be carried down this weekend, please have your supplies to the church building by tomorrow (Thursday) evening. If you cannot get it here by that time, it is still needed. We will be taking more supplies down to the coast as we collect them. Additional items will be needed in the near future.
Matt has expressed a need for additional workers to help with clean up. If you are interested in helping with this effort, please contact Wayne, Jordan, or Trent. We will try to keep you updated on any groups that might be traveling down on future occasions.
Please continue to pray for all of those who have suffered loss and those who are working daily to restore and repair.
